Komal has over 10 years of experience working with children in various professional settings. From teaching and volunteering to mentoring and counseling, she has found a deep passion to help children grow and learn. Having experience serving as a Sunday school teacher, volunteering at an orphanage in Pakistan, interning at Equest to help children through equine assisted activities and therapies, and serving as a counselor at both middle and high school levels, she brings a wide array of experiences with her to work with children through play-therapy.

Komal has worked with adults and adolescents of various faiths and backgrounds, addressing a variety of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, stress, and grief and loss. She has also worked at a Metrocare, a community agency, on the assertive community treatment team where she provided case management and rehabilitation services to clients, who had severe psychological disorders, including but not limited to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, etc.

Komal believes one of the core foundations of counseling is the therapeutic relationship that is built upon a safe space, where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings without judgment. She utilizes a person-centered approach, along with evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Play Therapy to help her clients achieve their goals.
