Fees and Insurance

Understanding Our Fees

At Mighty Oaks Counseling, we believe therapy should be a space where you can focus on your goals, your relationships, and your well-being—not on whether your insurance company will approve the care you need.

We are a private-pay practice and do not participate directly with insurance plans. This allows us and our clinicians greater flexibility in determining the type, frequency, and duration of therapy that best fits each client's needs.

Why Don't We Accept Insurance?

Insurance can be helpful for many families, but insurance-based therapy also comes with limitations. When insurance is used for mental health services, the insurance company may require a mental health diagnosis and may determine which services are considered medically necessary, how often therapy can occur, or how many sessions will be covered.

As a private-pay practice, we are able to work collaboratively with you to determine what makes sense for your individual needs rather than having treatment decisions guided by an insurance company's requirements.

This approach also allows us to protect your privacy by limiting the amount of personal clinical information that must be shared with an insurance company.

Our goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care bsed on the person sitting in front of us—not simply on a diagnosis or insurance benefit.

Sliding-Scale Fees

We recognize that the cost of therapy can be a significant consideration for individuals and families. When possible, we offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments based on financial need and clinician availability.

Each Mighty Oaks clinician offers sliding scale fees. If cost is a concern, please let us know when you contact us. We are happy to discuss available options and determine how we can support your family.

Can I Use My Insurance?

Although we do not bill insurance directly, some insurance plans provide out-of-network mental health benefits. If your plan offers out-of-network reimbursement, you may be able to submit a superbill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning therapy to ask about your specific out-of-network benefits, deductible, reimbursement rate, and any documentation requirements.

Mighty Oaks Counseling can provide the appropriate documentation for you to submit to your insurance company. However, reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan, and we cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for services.
