Lauren Stroh, MS, LPC Intern has worked children in various professional settings for over fifteen years. Lauren has a deep love for assisting these little individuals to learn and grow. Serving as a Montessori teacher, children’s choir director, private music teacher, water safety instructor, vocal coach, and play therapist, Lauren has combined many of her interests in these various settings, believing in a person-centered, holistic approach to healing and growth.

Lauren received a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory and attended the University of North Texas where she graduated with a Masters of Science in Clinical Counseling with a focus in Play Therapy. During her studies at the University of North Texas, Lauren worked as an intern counselor at the Child and Family Resource Clinic in Denton, where she provided counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults. She also worked in the Denton school district, provided play therapy for young children during their school day.

Additionally, Lauren is active as a professional vocalist and organist throughout the DFW area. She regularly collaborates with several renowned choral ensembles and musicians throughout the United States and recently returned from a second ten-day tour to Ireland. Lauren strongly believes in the powerful healing nature of music and looks forward to finding ways to incorporate the love of music into more of her counseling work. Lauren was the founding vice president and director of music videos for a local non-profit’s first year, where she found ways to marry her love of artistic expression and therapeutic healing.

Currently, Lauren lives in Dallas and is thrilled to be working at Mighty Oaks Counseling under the supervision of Sarah Carlson. Lauren approaches counseling from a person-centered theoretical orientation and has interest and experience working with clients who experience general and performance anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and life transitions. She specializes in play therapy and enjoys working with parents of child clients to problem solve and create a team of support.
